COMPANY HISTORY

Our trucking company started in 1953 when IRINEO S. ANSALDO and his brother in-law PEDRO C. SUICO bought the first truck with a price of  one peso (Php 1.00) to Smith Bell & Co. Ltd, which was their former employer. The truck was partially damaged by a fire and it was being rebuilt and completed with conglomeration of American and Japanese parts assembly. Our first client was the former owner of the truck itself (Smith Bell & Co., Ltd) at Daliao, Toril, Davao City.

Barely a year we acquired the third unit a heavier capacity model which was equipped with a Buda Diesel Engine (which was later replaced with Cummins Engine). With only one unit delegated to Coca-Cola Bottling to deliver their products to Cotabato area, we observed that our operation was not to be as promising, than if we operate more bigger units. A decision was made to acquire those Army surplus International K-11 model prime movers and semi-hi-bed trailers.

For almost ten (10) years, we stayed in Arellano Street and Matina crossing Maa then we moved to our present location at Km. 13, Panacan, Davao City. At Panacan, we constructed a garage and workshop where we do repairs and rebuilding. With fourteen (14) units, we were able to extend our services to several local as well as multi-national companies like Amon Trading Corporation, Atlantic Gulf of the Philippines (AG&P), Koppel Philippines which later became U.S. Industries, Borden Chemical, Menzi & Co., Sta. Clara Plywood. Philippines Refining Co., Franklin Baker Corporation and others.

In sixties and seventies: Our biggest break came when the Insular Hotel was constructed in 1962. Miranda Contruction, a Manila based construction firm acquired our services to haul almost all the building materials used in the construction and the furniture like beds, chairs, tables, kitchenware and equipment provided in the completion of the hotel which came all the way from Manila. It was more than a year that construction was our bread and butter to exaggerate.

In 1963, through the advice of a friend Atty. Franco Grageda, we had the trucking business named ANSUICO, and incorporated with our Chairman of the Board (Irineo ANSALDO), his brother-in-law Pedro SUICO, his sister PAZ, his wife, SYLVINA, his brothers MANUEL and RUPERTO as original stockholders. We used RED BALL EXPRESS as its trade name which all these years the company has been known in the trucking business.

In 1967. we constructed additional warehouse and purchased five (5) units of Mercedes Benz trucks through the funding of Development Bank Of the Philippines. In 1968, upon completion of the warehouse, two (2) multinational companies, Philippines Refining Co. (now Unilever), and Carnation Philippines moves into the premises.

During the early years of the 70s and the Martial Law year, the banana industry began to develop. Del Monte (Philippine Packing Corporation) and Stanfilco (Dole) were putting up growers like Marsman Plantation that became our client. Sugar cane plantations were started like the Davao Sugar Central, North Cotabato Sugar Central and sugar mills were constructed. Having equipped ourselves with the right equipments (trucks and trailers), we moved the materials and machines of these multi-million pesos construction projects. The contractors were Atlantic Gulf and Pacific (AG & P) and Construction Development Corporation of the Phils. (CDCP). It was also during this period that the Pulangi River Hydroelectric plant in Bukidnon was constructed and we were fortunate to get the contract in hauling the machineries and construction materials.

At present, we are operating with more than 100 prime movers, more than 150 reefer vans, more than 200 chassis, more than 100 generator sets and other heavy equipment.
